What You Can Sell

The L&A Studio Tour is promoting original artworks such as painting, encaustic, mixed media, collage, fibre arts, quilts, sculpture, wood turning, glass, digital media, drawing, ceramics, mosaic, jewellery, goldsmithing/silversmithing, photography and pottery. We welcome artists at any stage of their creative journey.

Artists are encouraged to sell their prints, cards, calendars, and books.

Note: Not accepting crafts, giftware, t-shirts, or copied works.

Requirements and Obligations

Non-compliance with any of these conditions may result in exclusion from future Tours.

Individual Artists With Studio 

  1. Be a ratepayer of Lennox & Addington County.
  2. Be prepared to demonstrate and discuss your work during the Tour.
  3. Have at least 15-20 pieces of your own original work available to display and sell on the Tour. 
  4. Display no other Artists’ work (unless Tour Guest Artist) during the Tour. 
  5. All artwork must be original—no copies or mass-produced artworks (no giftware). Please feel free to sell your own fine art reproductions (prints, giclees, calendars, books, and art cards).
  6. Be able to accommodate visitors. 
  7. Distribute printed materials.
  8. Attend AS MANY AS POSSIBLE studio tour meetings.
  9. Volunteer to help out as needed. This is your studio tour!
  10. Proofread your portion of marketing materials by the deadline.
  11. Display permanent Tour signs at your studio/gallery and display temporary Tour signs at your studio/gallery about a week prior to the Tour. Note: Signs remain the property of the L&A Studio Tour and must be returned if you retire from the Tour.
  12. Have adequate 3rd party liability insurance of not less than $2,000,000. You may be required to provide proof of insurance.
  13. All Artists must sign an Insurance Waiver.
  14. Publish and share information about the L&A Studio Tour on your own website, blog, and social media.
  15. Link to the L&A Studio Tour website on your website.
  16. Write or edit an article with accompanying photo or videos, describing your art, studio space and/or your creative process to be promoted on the L&A Studio Tour social media.

Studio (and display/gallery area) Requirements and Guidelines

  1. Display/gallery space can be separate from work area (such as on a front porch, in your living room, in a hallway, in a sunroom). Gallery space should be well lit so that visitors have adequate light with which to view your work.
  2. Studio and gallery area must be open to the public on Tour Weekend.
  3. Studio and gallery areas should be easily accessible and safe for the public. Assure the safety of your visitors by ensuring there is are no tripping hazards, sharp tools, dangerous electrical wires or connections, no small items at child level, no very hot or cold apparatus within reach. We recommend that all machinery be unplugged for the Tour weekend unless in a separate area not accessible by the public. Flooring should be even and stable. Stairs must be safe and include handrails.
  4. Organize your art supplies, materials, and tools so that you can talk about your process.
  5. You might want to have some works in progress on display, as well as some older pieces, and artworks in varying sizes.
  6. Label and price all artwork.
  7. Process electronic payments via Square, e-transfer, Apple/Google Pay.

Guest Artists 

  1. Must have 15-20 original pieces available to display and sell.
  2. Be available to discuss your work during the Tour.
  3. Proof your portion of marketing materials by the deadline.
  4. Distribute Studio Tour marketing materials to businesses in your area.
  5. Publish and share information about the Tour on your own website, blog, and social media.
  6. Link to the L&A Studio Tour website on your website.
  7. You might want to have some works in progress on display, as well as some older pieces, and artworks in varying sizes.
  8. Label and price all artwork.
  9. Process electronic payments via Square, e-transfer, Apple/Google Pay.
